CertM8 EULA
CertM8 End User License Agreement
Last updated: 25 June 2026
IMPORTANT: READ THIS END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING, ACTIVATING, COPYING, OR USING CERTM8.
By installing, activating, copying, launching, or using CertM8, you agree to be bound by this End User License Agreement ("Agreement"). If you do not agree to this Agreement, do not install, activate, or use CertM8.
This Agreement is between you, the person or organization using CertM8 ("Licensee", "you", or "your"), and the individual owner/operator of CertM8, operating under the brand name Magister Operum ("Licensor", "we", "us", or "our").
1. Product
CertM8 is a Windows desktop software tool intended to assist administrators with IIS certificate and binding management, including certificate inspection, IIS site/binding review, certificate deployment/import operations, IIS binding actions, site start/stop operations, and IIS reset workflows.
CertM8 is intended for use by competent system administrators, IT staff, consultants, or authorized technical users. It is not intended for casual, untrained, unauthorized, or consumer use.
2. Acceptance
You accept this Agreement when you do any of the following:
- install CertM8
- activate a license key
- run CertM8
- copy CertM8 to a computer
- use CertM8 to query, inspect, modify, deploy, bind, unbind, delete, reset, start, stop, or otherwise interact with servers, certificates, IIS sites, IIS bindings, or related infrastructure.
If you are using CertM8 on behalf of a company, employer, client, government body, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to accept this Agreement on behalf of that organization.
3. License Grant
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement and payment of applicable fees, Licensor grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use CertM8 for internal administrative purposes.
This Agreement does not sell CertM8 to you. CertM8 is licensed, not sold.
4. License Type, Term, and Limits
Your use of CertM8 is limited by the license type, license term, server allowance, device binding, and other restrictions associated with your purchased or issued license.
A license may be limited by one or more of the following:
- expiration date
- number of registered servers
- device or machine binding
- customer name
- company name
- product version
- feature tier
- activation status.
You may not exceed the server count, device count, feature access, or license term granted to you.
5. Machine-Bound Activation
CertM8 may use offline activation and local license validation. A license may be bound to a specific computer, device profile, installation identity, or activation request.
You understand and agree that:
- a license key may not work on another computer
- replacing, reinstalling, virtualizing, cloning, or significantly changing the computer may require a new activation
- Licensor is not obligated to issue unlimited replacement activations
- Licensor may refuse replacement activations in cases of suspected misuse, abuse, resale, license sharing, circumvention, fraud, or excessive reactivation requests.
6. Offline Activation and Privacy
CertM8 is designed to use offline activation and local license validation. Activation request codes are manually copied and shared by the user when activation is needed.
Activation request codes are intended only to identify the CertM8 license request or installation request. They are not intended to contain passwords, certificate private keys, certificate contents, IIS configuration data, server inventories, usernames, administrator credentials, or PFX passwords.
CertM8 does not automatically transmit activation data, credentials, certificates, IIS data, server lists, or inventory information to Licensor.
You are responsible for deciding what information you manually send to Licensor during support, activation, troubleshooting, email, chat, or any other communication.
7. Local Data Files
CertM8 may create local configuration, license, roster, device, settings, or state files on the computer, including files stored under system-wide or user-specific Windows application data locations.
These files may be required for licensing, activation, server roster enforcement, preferences, or application state.
You must not modify, tamper with, delete, reverse engineer, forge, decrypt, replace, share, copy, bypass, or attempt to manipulate CertM8 license, device, roster, or activation files except as expressly permitted by Licensor.
8. Server Roster
CertM8 may enforce a licensed server roster. You are responsible for ensuring that only authorized servers are registered and managed under your license.
You may not use the roster system to evade license limits, rotate unauthorized servers, share a license between unrelated environments, or exceed your purchased server allowance.
9. Administrative Tool Warning
CertM8 is an administrative tool. It may perform or assist with actions that affect production systems.
Depending on what you choose to do, CertM8 may interact with:
- IIS sites
- IIS bindings
- SSL/TLS certificates
- certificate stores
- HTTP.SYS SSL bindings
- Windows Remote Management
- PowerShell
- remote servers
- application pools
- website availability
- certificate deployment/import workflows
- PFX files and certificate passwords
- IIS reset operations.
Incorrect use may cause outages, broken websites, incorrect certificate bindings, failed HTTPS, service interruption, loss of access, certificate mismatch, removal of needed certificates, failed deployments, application downtime, business interruption, or other damage.
You are solely responsible for understanding each action before confirming it.
10. User Responsibility
You agree that you are responsible for:
- having proper authorization to access and manage each server
- verifying backups before making changes
- testing CertM8 in a safe environment before production use
- reviewing selected servers, sites, certificates, bindings, thumbprints, ports, hostnames, and actions before confirming
- protecting certificate private keys
- protecting PFX files and PFX passwords
- protecting administrator credentials
- protecting server names and infrastructure information
- ensuring network connectivity, WinRM configuration, firewall rules, permissions, PowerShell policy, IIS availability, and certificate store access
- complying with your organization’s change-control procedures
- complying with applicable laws, policies, regulations, and contractual obligations.
CertM8 does not replace professional judgment, change management, security review, backups, or administrative competence.
11. High-Risk and Production Use
You use CertM8 in production environments at your own risk.
Before using CertM8 on production servers, you should test it in a lab, staging, or non-critical environment.
You agree not to hold Licensor responsible for outages, downtime, lost revenue, broken bindings, deleted certificates, failed certificate imports, failed IIS actions, configuration errors, server access issues, expired certificates, incorrect certificate selection, incorrect server selection, or consequences of confirmed administrative actions.
12. Confirmation Flows
CertM8 may show confirmation dialogs, warnings, console messages, status messages, or reports before or after certain actions.
You are responsible for reading and understanding confirmation prompts before proceeding.
When you confirm an action, you authorize CertM8 to attempt that action.
Cancellation, failure, timeout, partial completion, permission failure, network failure, PowerShell failure, WinRM failure, server error, IIS error, or certificate error may still occur.
13. SRCASTR Interface Feature
CertM8 includes a cosmetic interface feature known as SRCASTR.
SRCASTR may display sarcastic, humorous, fictionalized, dramatic, insulting, dismissive, hostile-sounding, absurd, or machine-personality-style messages during certain application interactions.
SRCASTR messages are decorative only.
SRCASTR messages do not represent:
- technical diagnostics
- operational instructions
- security advice
- legal advice
- professional advice
- support instructions
- actual system intent
- actual server status
- actual risk classification
- actual statements about you, your skills, your employer, your systems, or your users.
The actual operation performed by CertM8 is determined only by the selected application action, selected targets, available permissions, and confirmation flow, not by SRCASTR text.
SRCASTR can be muted or suppressed from within the application where the application provides that option.
By using CertM8, you acknowledge that SRCASTR is part of the product’s style and user interface. You agree that sarcastic, humorous, dramatic, fictionalized, or insulting interface messages are not a defect, not harassment, not discrimination, not professional advice, not a support response, and not grounds for a refund, claim, chargeback, or damages, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.
If you do not want sarcastic interface behavior, do not use SRCASTR-enabled features or use the available mute/suppression option.
14. No Guarantee of Results
CertM8 may fail to complete an action for many reasons, including but not limited to:
- insufficient permissions
- blocked WinRM
- firewall restrictions
- remote PowerShell restrictions
- unavailable servers
- invalid credentials
- missing IIS modules
- malformed certificates
- missing private keys
- incorrect certificate passwords
- HTTP.SYS binding conflicts
- duplicate bindings
- network timeouts
- antivirus or endpoint protection interference
- Windows policy restrictions
- user error
- unsupported server configuration.
Licensor does not guarantee that CertM8 will detect, prevent, repair, or safely handle every configuration problem.
15. Certificates and Private Keys
You are solely responsible for certificate handling.
You must ensure that you have the right to use, import, export, bind, deploy, delete, or manage any certificate handled by CertM8.
You are responsible for protecting private keys, PFX files, certificate passwords, exported certificates, and certificate backups.
Licensor is not responsible for lost private keys, exposed private keys, incorrect certificate bindings, deleted certificates, expired certificates, weak certificates, wrong certificates, certificate chain problems, failed imports, failed exports, missing private keys, or TLS/SSL failures.
16. Restrictions
You may not:
- copy, resell, rent, lease, sublicense, distribute, publish, lend, host, or commercially exploit CertM8 except as expressly permitted by Licensor
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, decrypt, unpack, modify, patch, tamper with, or attempt to derive the source code of CertM8, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law
- bypass, disable, forge, modify, remove, or interfere with licensing, activation, device binding, server roster, trial, demo, or feature restrictions
- share license keys with unauthorized users
- use one license for more users, devices, companies, clients, or servers than permitted
- remove copyright, trademark, branding, license, or ownership notices
- use CertM8 to access systems you are not authorized to manage
- use CertM8 for unlawful, malicious, abusive, or unauthorized activity
- use CertM8 to damage, disrupt, compromise, or interfere with third-party systems
- misrepresent CertM8 as your own software
- use CertM8 in violation of export control, sanctions, cybersecurity, privacy, employment, procurement, or other applicable rules.
17. Ownership
CertM8, including its code, design, user interface, SRCASTR content, graphics, text, icons, workflows, branding, activation system, documentation, and related materials, is owned by Licensor or its licensors.
All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.
You receive only a limited license to use CertM8 under this Agreement.
18. Third-Party Components
CertM8 may include or rely on third-party software, libraries, runtimes, frameworks, Windows components, Python components, cryptographic libraries, certificate bundles, or Microsoft technologies.
Third-party components may be subject to their own licenses.
Licensor does not own Microsoft Windows, IIS, PowerShell, WinRM, certificate stores, HTTP.SYS, or other third-party systems that CertM8 interacts with.
19. Updates
Licensor may provide updates, fixes, enhancements, or new versions at its discretion.
Licensor is not obligated to provide updates forever.
An update may change features, licensing behavior, supported environments, interface text, SRCASTR messages, activation handling, or compatibility.
Some updates may require a valid license, active support entitlement, new activation, or new purchase.
20. Support
Support is provided at Licensor’s discretion and may depend on your license type, support status, version, issue, environment, and available information.
Licensor is not obligated to provide emergency support, production outage support, custom troubleshooting, remote administration, server recovery, certificate recovery, IIS repair, or infrastructure consulting unless separately agreed in writing.
Support does not make Licensor responsible for your systems, configurations, backups, change control, certificates, users, servers, outages, or administrative decisions.
21. Refunds and Returns
Except where required by applicable law, mandatory consumer rights, a separate written refund policy, or the terms of the platform through which CertM8 was purchased, all sales are final after a license key, activation response, license file, or download access has been issued.
Refunds are not provided merely because:
- you dislike SRCASTR or its messages
- you did not read this Agreement
- you lack required administrator permissions
- your environment blocks WinRM, PowerShell, IIS access, or certificate operations
- you purchased the wrong license tier
- you exceeded license limits
- your servers are misconfigured
- your certificate is invalid, expired, password-protected, missing a private key, or otherwise unsuitable
- you changed your mind
- you expected functionality not advertised by Licensor
- you attempted to use CertM8 on unsupported systems
- your antivirus, endpoint protection, policy, firewall, or Windows configuration interferes with operation
- you are offended by optional or cosmetic interface messages.
Nothing in this Agreement limits any non-waivable refund, withdrawal, cancellation, consumer, statutory, or mandatory rights that may apply under applicable law, including rights that may apply under the laws of the Republic of Türkiye.
22. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CERTM8 IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.
LICENSOR DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, SECURITY, COMPATIBILITY, AVAILABILITY, ERROR-FREE OPERATION, UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION, OR SUITABILITY FOR PRODUCTION USE.
LICENSOR DOES NOT WARRANT THAT CERTM8 WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, OPERATE WITHOUT INTERRUPTION, BE ERROR-FREE, DETECT ALL ISSUES, PREVENT OUTAGES, PRESERVE CONFIGURATIONS, CORRECTLY IDENTIFY EVERY CERTIFICATE PROBLEM, OR SAFELY HANDLE EVERY SERVER ENVIRONMENT.
23. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LICENSOR’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO CERTM8 OR THIS AGREEMENT WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE CERTM8 LICENSE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, OR FIFTY UNITED STATES DOLLARS (USD $50), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability. In such cases, the limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
24. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Licensor from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, expenses, fines, penalties, and fees, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to:
- your use or misuse of CertM8

Upon termination, you must stop using CertM8 and remove it from your systems, except where retention is required by law or internal compliance policy.
Termination does not entitle you to a refund.
Sections relating to ownership, restrictions, warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, refunds, governing law, and any provisions intended to survive will survive termination.
26. Audit and Enforcement
Licensor may use technical measures within CertM8 to enforce licensing, activation, roster limits, device binding, trial restrictions, feature limits, or expiration.
Licensor may refuse support, updates, replacement activations, or future licenses if misuse, circumvention, license sharing, fraud, unauthorized redistribution, or other violation is suspected.
27. Export, Sanctions, and Legal Compliance
You may not use, export, re-export, transfer, or provide CertM8 in violation of applicable export control, sanctions, cybersecurity, privacy, procurement, or other laws and regulations.
You represent that you are not prohibited from receiving or using CertM8 under applicable law.
28. Governing Law
This Agreement will be governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
Any dispute arising from or relating to this Agreement or CertM8 will be resolved in the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul, Türkiye, except where mandatory law grants another competent venue, authority, consumer arbitration committee, or court.
29. Severability
If any part of this Agreement is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining parts will remain in effect to the maximum extent permitted by law.
The invalid, illegal, or unenforceable provision will be interpreted or replaced to best accomplish its original intent in a lawful and enforceable way.
30. No Waiver
Failure by Licensor to enforce any part of this Agreement does not waive Licensor’s right to enforce it later.
31. Entire Agreement
This Agreement, together with any applicable invoice, order confirmation, license terms, support terms, or written agreement signed by Licensor, forms the entire agreement between you and Licensor regarding CertM8.
It supersedes all prior or contemporaneous oral or written discussions, proposals, statements, marketing materials, website text, emails, chats, or understandings regarding CertM8.
32. Changes to This Agreement
Licensor may update this Agreement from time to time.
For new installs, updates, renewals, or activations, the latest version may apply.
Continued use of CertM8 after an updated Agreement is provided or made available constitutes acceptance of the updated Agreement, unless prohibited by applicable law.
